The Cape Western Provincial Dugout regrets to announce the passing to Higher Command of 19310 Moth Les Smith from the Battledress Shellhole yesterday afternoon, Friday 09 December 2022.
Moth Les Smith had joined the Cape Town Rifles (Dukes).
He was of a passing chivalry and was close with all Moths who knew him well. His sharp keen wit will be sorely missed but held in high esteem and with fond memories by all at the Battledress Shellhole and further afield.
Uncle Les as he was fondly known as was the epitome of the three Moth Ideals of True Comradeship, Mutual Help and Sound Memory.
Sincere condolences are sent to his widow Auntie Daphne and the entire family.
