14 February 2025 marks 10 years existence of the Garden Route Chapter of the MMA.

This all began, when Moth Cobus Vos joined the Cape Western Chapter on 21 February 2013.

Between 2013 to 2014, Moth Cobus recruited MMA members for the envisaged formation of the Garden Route Chapter.

The Eastern Cape Provincial Old Bill Stan Bezuidenhout handed over and pinned the “Garden Route” rocker to Moth Cobus, at the Provincial Quarter 2 meeting, held at Outeniqua Shellhole on 14 February 2015 and in so, established the Garden Route Chapter of the MOTH Motorcycle Association.

 

Hence on 14th of February 2015 at the Outeniqua Shellhole, Moth Cobus Vos [Patch name Instigator] became the founder member and first Chairman, of the newly formed Garden Route Chapter of the MOTH Motorcycle Association. It was under his perseverance and leadership that the Chapter grew.

  1. Fred Steyn [Patch name Mr Jacks] Joined MMA on 28 March 2014 (may he RIP), was Treasurer and in later years, succeeded Moth Cobus as Chairman.
  2. Moth Danie Hoffman, [Patch name Lost & Found] Joined MMA on 01 March 2014 and was the Vice Chairman
  3. Moth Donny Creaven, joined MMA on 01 March 2014, was the Secretary and left again before 2016
  4. Moth Malcolm Pragnel [Patch name Warrant] Joined MMA on 29 January 2014 (may he RIP) and was the Sgt at arms.
  5. Angie Andreka [Patch name Roxy] Joined as FOMMA on 01 March 2015 and succeeded Moth Donny as the Secretary, she has since left.
  6. Douglas Bam [Patch name K-Dog] Joined MMA on 01 March 2015
  7. Wilhelm Koekemoer [Patch name Koeks] Cyber member joined MMA on 18 July 2015
  8. Natasha Koekemoer [Patch name Dux] Cyber member joined as a FOMMA on 18 July 2015
  9. Moth Billy Biljon [Patch name Pitstop] was part of the original MMA Cape Western founders, but resigned and much later rejoined the MOTH and MMA.

Thanks to the dedication of these founders, the Chapter has grown from strength to strength and are now able to celebrate the Garden Route Chapter of the MMA’s, 10th anniversary.
