SUNSET CALL: MOTH ARTIE ELLIOTT, PAST PROVINCIAL OLD BILL, CAPE WESTERN PROVINCIAL DUGOUT.

Moth General Headquarters, Cape Western Provincial Dugout and Battledress Shellhole, as well as Comrades Shellhole in the Eastern Cape Provincial Dugout, regret to announce the Passing to Higher Service of Moth Artie Elliott on Sunday 18th September 2022.

Moth Elliott joined the Order at Battledress Shellhole in 1993 and served as Commander from 1996 to 2005.
He served as the Deputy Provincial Old Bill to the Cape Western Provincial Dugout in 2004/2005 and then as Provincial Old Bill in 2006/2007. After this, he again took up office as Commander of Battledress from 2007 to 2013.

Moth Elliott was awarded a Certificate of Excellent Service in 2000 and was made a Life Member of Battledress in 2014. He moved to Port Elizabeth in 2018 to be closer to family, where he joined Comrades Shellhole.

MothArtieservedintheRoyalNavyfrom1956to1965,afterwhichhetransferredtotheSANavy. He served as a Submariner from 1969 to 1988 and retired as a distinguished and decorated Warrant Officer Class 1.

A Moth Memorial Service will be held at the Battledress Shellhole at 14:00 on Friday 30 September 2022.
