Sunset Call: Moth Ernest George Mann of Marshall Smuts Shellhole, 15 Oct 2021

With great sadness Marshal Smuts has to inform that 19486 Moth Ernest George Mann rolled away on his last train journey yesterday afternoon at 14H10. Surrounded by his family and Shellhole Welfare NCO, Moth Jimmy Gill, Moth George quietly passed over to the other side.

A Life Member at Marshal Smuts, George originally joined the Order during 1946 but unfortunately due to work commitments recorded service of a broken nature.

A veteran of the Italian Campaign where he served as an Artificer with  6th South African Armoured Division, George will best be remembered for his naughty sense of humour.

Sincere condolences are extended to his family and special gratitude expressed towards Moth Jimmy Gill for taking such good care of our Brother Moth ever since 2016!
