With great sadness Marshal Smuts Shellhole has to inform of the Sunset Call of 19477, Moth Johann Fourie earlier this afternoon. Moth Johann was known for his human kindness and great sense of humour. Although he emigrated to Australia in 2015, he remained an active and staunch member of the Shellhole. He will be missed by allwho had the pleasure of knowing him!

We Will Remember Him

Johann had a rare and memorable presence. We shall remember his wonderful sense of humour, his remarkable general knowledge, and the sincerity that came through so naturally in conversation. He had the gift of making people smile, think, and feel valued, often all at once. Even from afar, through our WhatsApp chats, we always felt connected to him and enriched by his warmth, wit, and wisdom. Your message that he was peaceful, and “as good looking as ever,” captured something of Johann’s charm so beautifully. It is easy to understand how deeply he will be missed — for his friendship, his helpfulness, his humour, and, of course, his rusks. We are grateful to have known Johann and to have shared in his friendship over the years. His kindness and character will remain with us, as we know they will remain with many others. May the memories you hold of him bring comfort in the days ahead, and may you be strengthened by the love, faith, and friendship surrounding you.
