Remembrance Parade
A strong contingent representing MOTH, MOTHWA, SA Legion, SADFA and RAFA gathered at the East London Cenotaph for the annual Remembrance Service. Joining the ex-servicemen were Selborne College cadets and 1st Cambridge and 2nd Gonubie Scout Troops. The march past was led by Selborne College Military Band.
The fly past and the sounding of the Last Post took place at precisely 1100. In his address, Rev. Barry Wittstock spoke on the importance of remembering why the fallen had laid down their lives and why we should strive to avoid repeating the tragic mistakes of the past.
The laying of wreaths was followed by the Lament by members of East London Caledonian Society Pipe Band.
We will remember them.
ELDD Shadow Parade
ELDD Shadow Parade took place at the MOTH Complex on Friday 08 November 2024.
The event was well supported by MOTH, MOTHWA, MESCA residents, SA Legion, SADFA and visitors. MOTH Rev. Denis De Lange led the devotions and DOB MOTH Clegg Naude recounted the importance of the ceremony.
