On the 23rd of November 1975, Niel Lombard, a son of the Riebeek Valley was killed in action on the banks of the Massaba river in Angola, during Operation Savanna. Forty years later, he is the only South African soldier whose remains were never found and could therefore not be returned home to his final resting place.
To commemorate this event, Majozi DCM Shellhole will attend a Memorial Service at the Riebeek West Dutch Reformed Church on Sunday the 22nd of November and host a Wreath Laying Ceremony on completion.
All Moths not required to attend the Quarterly Commanders Meeting on the same day, are invited to join the members of Majozi DCM in their practical expression of the MOTH Ideal of Sound Memory.
