In the Mainline District where there are 9 Shellholes and ‘we’ compete for the Mainline District Cup. This cup is awarded to the Shellhole that does the most towards MOTH in a 3 month period. Based on a number of factors – Recruiting, Transfers in, Transfers out, Fund raising (Moth & Non Moth), Functions held, Raids to & Raids from and then there is attendance at Shellhole meetings !

So Better ‘Ole prides it’s self in trying to keep the Mainline District Cup. So the Raiding Party was at again at raiding Rough but Ready Shellhole which is in the Durban & District area. So there was four of us from Better ‘Ole that attended their meeting on Monday night. Rough but READY only had 7 of their 15 members present to our party of 4. What was of interest at the meeting Maureen Joubert (Gavin Wilsenach’s partner) is doing a fund raiser for the MOTH 90th Anniversary, which is to be held at the S.A.Legion complex in Scottburgh next year 4th to 7th May 2017. Maureen has arranged to have a Elvis show at the Assagai Shellhole Hall. Hopefully this is to raise funds for the 90ththere by reducing the costs to those attending.

So something was gained by us attending the Raid. – The War Correspondent
