Moth Savannah Bowls Day 2022 – 16th June

Old Bill Robin Starkey suggested that the Shellhole run a fun bowls day. Everybody nervous about this as bowls was not a common sport amongst the members. Needless to say, in true Moth fashion, we supported our Old Bill, and we had fun, and we made R20000 which will be donated to cottages in the area as promised during the prize giving.  A huge thank you to Alberton Bowling Club for there support and all the work they did to ensure this golf day was a success.

The day started very early on the 16th June, with temps of 3 degrees at 7h00 at the bowling club. Savannah famous Brew Hoggs Pilsner craft beer warmed the hearts of those who were brave enough before the bowls. At 9h00 we played the 1st 11 ends. We then had tea, followed by the spider, which made just over R700. Then the last 11 ends. This was followed by lunch, prize giving and and an auction.
