Founding Date: 4th October 2015
There were some milestones in the Platinum Chapter of the MMA since its inception in February 2011:
- Revival of Warrior Arms Club and upgrading of facilities for MMA Platinum Clubhouse at Warrior Shellhole
- MMA National 5th anniversary arranged and hosted by MMA Platinum
- Opening of MMA Southern KZN Chapter, inaugurated by MMA Platinum at Allan Wilson Shellhole
These are only a few notable events which contributed towards cementing the MMA in the MOTH Platinum Province. Due to growth and membership spread across a vast area, the MMA formalised a decentralised structure from 1st July 2014, and with some of the “pioneering” members of MMA Platinum, the Southern Gauteng chapter was conceived, initially reporting to West Rand Chapter until 4th October 2015, when with sufficient numbers the chapter was founded at its inaugural meeting held at KBB Shellhole. This was the forerunner to what is now the Joburg chapter, renamed following the dissolving of the Provincial MMA Platinum executive in March 2022.
